Artist Statement: As an artist, I am truly in love with the painting process. I believe as the artist submits to the creative journey, something deep within the soul is ignited. And if properly nurtured and developed something beautiful occurs, however a healing and spiritual experience is also birthed. My art is about the expression of my passion for color and texture. Often, I think of my work as a continual study of the relationship between colors. How they meet, how they respond to each other, the messages the colors offer, and how we feel when we experience the drama of colors forming and moving across the canvas. An incredible mystery begins when two of nature's elements, color and texture are combined. I consider myself a color expressionist and presently painting on an intuitive level, even though I am a trained painter in realism. My work varies since I am working more intuitively and do not desire to be boxed into a particular definite style as an artist. I seek to reach many viewers through this intuitive work or different colors, textures, and styling. My goal is to give room for the colors to speak for themselves and touch as many hearts and lives as possible. As many artists do tend to paint from their own experiences, I tend to paint what I feel the colors are saying to me or moving to me do. To have freedom in my work in color and style, allows plenty of room for growth and expansion of the work. Yet, I can say my work can be described as raw, bold, organic in movement, earthy, with an urban edge.
